Alex Caceres - Community Tax Services
Where is Everett Tax located? What are landmarks around? What makes it easy to find?

Community Tax Services is in Everett, on Evergreen Way, in the Windermere Building.  You will find us near Cash America.

How long has Everett Tax been in business?

We have been at our current location since 2014, however we have been serving the community (taxpreparation, payroll, and accounting)since 2000.

What has kept you in business so long? Why do you have repeat customers?

Our customers and clients say they keep coming back to our tax service every year because of our accurate tax services, professional attitude, low cost compared with the competition and above all, they mention the very friendly customer service.  We hope you will experience the same!

It seems like there are quite a few accountants in the Everett, WA area. You seem to care deeply about all your clients.

There are many tax preparers in the area, however not many are accountants  What sets us apart from the other accounting-types is that we take the time to get to know every single client as a person, not just a business, but a true client/friend.  We are not trying to process each transaction as quick as possible to get to the next one.  We try to educate each business and customer about tax benefits; especially those who are small business owners.

What are the benefits of having a professional do taxes? What are the main couple advantages?

A professional accountant will take continuing education every year to stay up to date on the tax code.  Tax laws are constantly changing, the last major change was in December of 2017.  There are still many preparers in the area trying to catch up with the changes.  Because we invest time and money in education every year our customers can rest assured that their taxes are being prepared in the most accurate way that will comply with the tax code.  They are also getting all the benefits the tax code grants them.

There are different degrees of accountants and certain credentials.

Yes, there are CPA’s, accountants, bookkeepers, and tax preparers.

  • CPA’s are accountant graduates that take a test to be licensed in a specific state, much like a lawyer or Doctor would do.
  • Accountantshave an accounting degree;however they have not taken the State certification. They can do all that a CPA can do, except sign accounting documents that require legal certification from particular states.  While CPA’s practice general accounting, accountants usually practice specialties, such as Taxes, Payroll IRS representation etc.
  • Bookkeepers do not have a university degree. They usually have a 2-year degree, or in some cases, they take a 9-month course in general accounting principles.

Because there is no regulation in the tax industry, anyone could be a tax preparer, even someone who does not have any accounting or tax law background.

A direct message from Owner, Alex Caceres to you!

Because of my background in the accounting and technical field of computer science, I have been able to stay in the forefront of tax code education while at the same time protecting the personal information of my clients.  If you entrust someone to do your taxes, that person must have an excellent knowledge of accounting and a good grasp in the tax code.  That is what sets me apart from the competition.

Alex, is there something you commonly hear from people coming from other tax preparation services?

Yes, the couple things we hear most from my customers is “how come no one told me that before?”  We only have 2 possible explanations to attempt to answer this:

  1. The person who did their taxes before was either ignorant of the tax code or did not want to bother taking the time to explain it.  Either way, both of those excuses are negligent.
  2. The other thing we hear frequently is, “I feel relaxed when I come to do taxes here”Hopefully what they are really saying is,“We make them feel comfortable andrelaxed.  The personal experience is very important to our Everett Tax Firm.
